A Fathers Day Without A Father

Now by the title you would think this is going to be sad, far from it.  I started my journey in life as a child that was adopted into a family that wanted children so badly.  So it started with two people with the only wish – to love a child.  Now it wasnt that easy, children rebel and pretty much know more then their parents by age twelve.  Come on, you know you were that child, we all were.  I am sure my parents thought sometimes if they had adooted a crazy child.  Crazy children exist on certain days, you never know when crazy will act up.  Part of a childs life is to be crazy.

My father passed away many years ago after years of bad health and pain.  My mother passed away in January of 2017 at 89, living a good full life and cooking everyday because she loved it.  So on mothers and fathers day for me it is remembering the good, forgetting the bad, and knowing that as parents they did a pretty good job.  They did their best.

So to you dads, keep up the good work and remember your job is not done.  Even when you pass away your job continues on as a memory, an example, create good memories for your children.

Happy Fathers Day –  “It’s only when you grow up and step back from him—or leave him for your own home—it’s only then that you can measure his greatness and fully appreciate it.”
